Peltandra virginica (Water Arum) is an aquatic to bog growing aroid with green hastate leaves and petioles. The flowers grow to 8 inches tall and are green with a yellow spadix. The berries are a dark maroon to purple color. Peltandra virginica (Water Arum) is very hardy and survives zone 5 and up. Plants can grow up to 3 to 4 feet tall. They prefer full sun to part shade in damp to bog conditions.
