Hedychium Kinkaku is a beautiful hybrid Hedychium with nice size orange flowers. The inside of the flowers are often darker orange in color and flowers late summer. Raised by Mr Koyama in Japan and introduced to the USA in the 1960's. Hedychium Kinkaku is still fairly hard to come by and here in Kentucky zone 6 I leave out plants and heavily mulch  6 to 8 inches and plants return.
