Cyanotis obtusa looks to be the correct name for this plant. It was collected by my friend and has been in his collection for years. The foliage is extremely thick like a bromeliad and the plant is green and maroon in shade but will be dark purple to maroon in full sun. The plant grows in a birdsnest shape and will produce small runners at the base. It could be a great plant for hanging pots terrariums or as ground cover in tropical gardens.
